Engineering Underwriting Manager

About the Company:

Our client is a multinational company and a subsidiary of a major global financial group.

Job Purpose:

• Manage the Engineering Underwriting with high-quality underwriting competency as per the agreed company’s service standards.

Accountabilities:

• Perform market research and development of Engineering insurance by analyzing market needs and formulating profitable and sellable products.
• Manage and strengthen department’s internal controls, ensuring full compliance with the company’s policies, procedures, corporate governance, and other related legal and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with external department resources (e.g., claims trends, loss ratio, and relevant reports) and work closely with Claims and Business Departments to address adverse trends and take remedial actions.
• Periodically review underwriting guidelines for continuous improvement and update business units for full compliance.
• Provide professional advice, guidance, and support to Business Units and Branch personnel to foster profitable business growth in Engineering underwriting, including Loss Prevention measures.
• Monitor the department’s administrative systems, procedures, and processes for sound operations and continuous improvement.
• Plan, develop, and control subordinates’ activities to align with the company’s values and direction within a harmonious working environment, ensuring effective communication and leadership.

Minimum Academic Qualification:

• Degree

Working Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering Underwriting.
