About The Company:

1. Our client is a leading conglomerate listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia and is a major private-sector player in Sarawak.
2. Their portfolio spans to over more than 30 companies, including cement and phosphate manufacturing, property development, construction, trading, green technology, oil tools, trading, telco infrastructure and financial services.

 

Job Purpose: To support the General Manager, Group Finance in the area of financial controllership, HQ entities with the on-going restructuring of the Group’s Finance function.

 

Key Responsibilities:
To assist and support the General Manager on the Group’s Finance controllership in HQ entities on the following:

1. Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank & treasury, and general ledger functions.
2. Ensure transactions and balances are accurately recorded in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
3. Support month-end and year-end account close processes, ensuring timely reconciliations and account closing.
4. Review and analyse accounts, cash flow, and profit projections to generate management reports that reflect the financial performance of the business against plan.
5. Lead projects like revenue recognition, process improvement, and system implementation
6. Review business models, identify finance and tax risks, and propose solutions.
7. Assist management in setting the annual budget and tracking sales revenue and expenditure budgets.
8. Manage and supervise the accurate and timely maintenance of accounts receivables, accounts payables, and the overall accounting and financial reporting process.
9. Supervise the preparation of audit and tax schedules, and assist in corporate tax computations and submissions.
10. Assist the implementation and improvement of SOPs and internal controls process to supporting the smooth running of business and finance operation.
11. Assist in developing and administering financial and operational policies to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, financial regulations (local Accounting Standard, Income Tax Act, and Services Tax Act), and Group’s policies.
12. Mentor, coach and groom finance staff in the department.

 

Job Requirements:

1. Degree in Accounting / Finance / Professional qualification ACCA/CPA and a member of IIAM/ MIA/CIMA/MICPA.
2. Preferably 5 years of working experience in financial / accounting or relevant fields.
3. Strong in accounting / financial / audit analysis, communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Able to work independently, compliance driven and observe confidentiality.
