Finance Manager – based in Kuching Sarawak

Our client is a prominent conglomerate listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.

Presently, the portfolio encompasses more than 30 companies engaged in various sectors such as cement manufacturing, construction materials, trading, property development, oil tools, financial services, telco infrastructure and other related services.

Job Purpose: The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all financial functions within the organization. This managerial role plays a critical part in ensuring the company’s financial health and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

• Develop and execute financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
• Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and reporting standards.
• Manage financial risk and implement effective financial controls.
• Prepare financial reports and present them to senior management and stakeholders.

Leadership:

• Recruit, train, and supervise finance staff.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Strategic Planning:

• Collaborate with the executive team to develop financial and operational strategies.
• Contribute to long-term business planning and decision-making.
• Assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives and provide insights.

Compliance and Reporting:

• Ensure timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting.
• Stay current with financial and legal regulations and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate audits and facilitate interactions with auditors.

Cash Flow Management:

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity.
• Optimize the allocation of financial resources.
• Monitor and manage debt, if applicable.

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CFA, MIA) is an added advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in finance/accounting field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
