About the Client

Our client is a rapidly growing electronics manufacturing company based in Perak, Malaysia, operating as a key regional hub for a well-established international group headquartered in Asia. Since its incorporation in 2018, the company has specialized in PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) and a wide range of electronic components, including resistors, capacitors, coils, and transformers.

Job Description

  • Lead Product Engineering Activities  
    • Manage and lead the product engineering team to support SMT/PCB assembly production.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI)  
    • Coordinate NPI projects from design handover to mass production.  
  • Process Development & Optimization  
    • Develop and improve SMT assembly processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and yield.  
    • Evaluate new equipment, materials, and technologies.
  • Engineering Support to Production  
    • Provide real-time technical support to resolve production issues.  
    • Troubleshoot quality or process deviations.
  • Quality & Compliance Assurance  
    • Ensure products meet IPC, ISO, RoHS, and customer standards.  
    • Work closely with QA/QC to handle audits and corrective actions.
  • Cost & Yield Improvement  
    • Lead initiatives to reduce manufacturing costs and improve production yields through process improvements.
  • Training & Development  
    • Train engineers and technicians on new processes, procedures, and technologies.
  • KPI & Reporting  
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering performance and report regularly to management.

Job Requirements

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in related industry.
  • Technical Knowledge of SMT & PCB Assembly  
    • Deep understanding of SMT machines, reflow soldering, stencil printing, AOI, SPI, and wave soldering  
    • Familiar with PCB layout, Gerber files, BOMs, and component specifications
  • New Product Introduction (NPI)  
    • Skilled in managing NPI projects and implementing DFM/DFT principles
  • Process Optimization & Troubleshooting  
    • Strong analytical skills in identifying process issues, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions
  • Project Management  
    • Able to plan, coordinate, and lead cross-functional teams on product or process projects
  • Knowledge of Standards & Compliance  
    • Familiar with IPC standards (IPC-A-610), ISO 9001, RoHS, and ESD practices
  • Quality & Yield Improvement  
    • Proficient in using quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, and control plans
  • Software Proficiency – Skilled in CAD tools, ERP systems, and statistical tools
  • Required language(s): Mandarin, English, Bahasa Malaysia.
