About the Client
Our client is a Malaysia-based ICT solutions and services provider specializing in cloud, virtualization, cybersecurity, data protection, enterprise infrastructure, and software development solutions. They support digital transformation initiatives for multinational corporations, local enterprises, and government sectors through end-to-end IT consulting, implementation, and managed services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations for the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud (AOS/AHV/Prism) and VMware vSphere environments, including monitoring and administration of VMware Aria Operations (experience with VMware Cloud Foundation is preferred).
- Perform non-disruptive software upgrades, patch management, and firmware updates for nodes and clusters on a quarterly basis (requires coordination with customers for planning and scheduling).
- Conduct daily system health checks to verify cluster status, storage availability, and backup success rates.
- Identify and report suspicious system behaviour or resource constraints (CPU/RAM/Storage) to the Technical Account Manager (TAM) to prevent potential outages.
- Proactively lead troubleshooting efforts for performance bottlenecks, hardware alerts, and software issues across Nutanix, VMware, and HPE environments.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact to open and manage support cases with VMware and Nutanix Global Support Services (GSS).
- Work closely with the customer’s IT team to understand evolving operational requirements and align infrastructure configurations accordingly.
- Administer and support HPE composable infrastructure, including HPE OneView and HPE Synergy for compute, storage, and networking management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of the environment’s configuration, IP schemas, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Plan, coordinate, and lead Disaster Recovery (DR) activities, including DR drills, failover testing, and documentation of recovery procedures.
- Participate in on-site support at the data center as required, including work outside of business hours for maintenance, patching, and incident response.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3-4 years of hands-on experience in VMware and Nutanix environments.
- Strong experience in VMware vSphere, Nutanix AOS/AHV/Prism, and HPE infrastructure.
- Experience in enterprise or banking environments is preferred.
- Basic understanding of networking, storage, backup, and virtualization technologies.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, patching, system monitoring, and infrastructure support.
- Experience handling VMware, Nutanix, and HPE support cases is an added advantage.
- Possess VMware VCTA/VCP or Nutanix NCA/NCP certifications is preferred.
- Proactive, independent, and able to support customers onsite when required.
- Must possess own transport and be willing to travel to client/data center location.
