Senior MIS Executive/Manager (Hands-on Software Development) – Based in Kulai, Johor

About the Client

Our client operates in the design and manufacturing of wireless communication hardware and software, providing OEM, ODM, and joint development services to global customers. They specialise in customizable wireless modules, embedded systems, antennas, and related engineering solutions tailored to specific industry needs. Their offerings support faster time-to-market and are used across sectors such as industrial automation, healthcare, transportation, and smart technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Software Development & System Support

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain in-house software applications and MIS systems.
• Write, modify, and optimize programs independently from end to end, including logic design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application, system, and performance issues in a timely manner.
• Enhance existing systems to improve efficiency, stability, and scalability.

2. Database & Infrastructure

• Develop and maintain databases using MS SQL Server, including writing SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Support and manage system-related infrastructure such as NAS, IPPBX, and basic Linux environments (where applicable).
• Ensure data integrity, system security, and proper backup procedures.

3. Business & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with internal users and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Provide technical advice, system documentation, and user support when needed.
• Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and new technology implementations.

4. Leadership & Ownership (for Manager level)

• Take ownership of MIS systems and application architecture.
• Guide junior staff or vendors when required, while remaining personally hands-on in coding and system work.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Studies, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Proven experience in hands-on software development, preferably in an MIS or in-house system environment.
• Candidate must be able to write and complete programs independently, not limited to maintaining or handling partial modules only.
• Strong knowledge of VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#, VB, ASP.
• Experience with HTML and web-based applications.
• Solid understanding of MS SQL Server and SQL language.
• Exposure to IPPBX systems, NAS, and Linux environments.
• Experience supporting legacy systems while enhancing or modernizing them.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak Mandarin (to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients).
• Proficient in English for documentation and communication.
