They are currently undergoing a significant technology transformation and are looking for strategic leaders to modernise their network and cloud environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Network Engineering Manager\u00a0<\/strong>is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining the organisation&#8217;s network technology roadmap, architecture design, and automation strategy across LAN, WAN, data centres, and cloud platforms. You will drive adoption of SD-WAN, SASE, zero-trust security, and infrastructure-as-code (Python\/Ansible), while managing vendor relationships, budgets, and a team of engineers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Define and implement the overall network strategy and technology roadmap spanning LAN, WAN, data centres, cloud, and telecom systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead network architecture design, feasibility studies, cost analysis, performance tuning, and capacity planning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drive modernisation initiatives including SD-WAN, automation, zero-trust, and SASE adoption.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guide short- and long-term technology roadmaps, embedding industry best practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct compliance gap assessments and implement remediation plans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oversee CAPEX\/OPEX budgets, cost optimisation, vendor assessments, and procurement cycles (RFI\/RFP\/RFQ).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead strategic Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives, defining success criteria and ensuring data-driven adoption decisions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage, mentor, and grow the network engineering team \u2013 setting performance goals, certifications, and career progression paths.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Partner with IT, security, cloud, and business units to align network capabilities with organisational goals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drive adoption of automation tools (Ansible, Python, Terraform) and modern monitoring platforms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stay current with emerging technologies and ensure resilient, future-ready solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent \u2013 recognised by the Malaysian government \u2013 with minimum CGPA of 3.00.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pass in Bahasa Melayu (including oral) at SPM level or equivalent government-recognised qualification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in network engineering\/architecture across LAN\/WAN\/DC\/cloud environments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least 2\u20135 years in management or senior leadership roles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proven track record overseeing large-scale, high-availability networks, including global or multi-site operations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Broad expertise in routing\/switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VXLAN) and data centre architectures (spine-leaf).<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strong understanding of SD-WAN<\/strong> or similar advanced technologies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Solid knowledge of network security concepts \u2013 firewalls, VPNs, IDS\/IPS, zero-trust architecture, and compliance frameworks.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with <strong>cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)<\/strong> and hybrid connectivity solutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency in network automation\/orchestration tools \u2013 Python, Ansible, Terraform \u2013 plus modern monitoring platforms (added advantage).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proven ability to develop and own network strategy, roadmap, capacity planning, and resilience initiatives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong budget and vendor management experience \u2013 procurement cycles, asset lifecycles, CAPEX\/OPEX.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent stakeholder management across IT, security, cloud, and business units.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Melayu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong problem-solving mindset \u2013 incident management, root cause analysis, SLA enforcement, disaster recovery planning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency in performance monitoring, capacity forecasting, and optimisation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Willingness to work extended hours, including after-hours support when required.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Willing to travel<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Professional certifications (Public Clouds, TOGAF, etc.) are an added
