{"id":17787,"date":"2026-05-12T06:13:50","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T06:13:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peoplelake.asia\/?post_type=awsm_job_openings&#038;p=17787"},"modified":"2026-05-12T06:13:51","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T06:13:51","slug":"senior-legal-manager-commercial-contracts-based-in-kuching-sarawak","status":"publish","type":"awsm_job_openings","link":"https:\/\/peoplelake.asia\/zh\/jobs\/senior-legal-manager-commercial-contracts-based-in-kuching-sarawak\/","title":{"rendered":"Senior Legal Manager (Commercial Contracts) &#8211; based in Kuching Sarawak"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">About the company<\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Providing professional legal services in a shared services environment to various business units for a conglomerate in Kuching Sarawak with diversified businesses in construction and property development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Responsibilities<\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Commercial Contract Management<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lead the drafting, review and negotiation of complex commercial contracts, including: EPCC \/ construction contracts, procurement and supply agreements, services agreements, variation orders (VOs), supplemental agreements and amendments and inter-company agreements. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure contracts accurately reflect agreed commercial positions and protect the Group\u2019s legal and financial interests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Project and Operational Support<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide legal and contractual support to BUs and project teams throughout the contract lifecycle, including pre-award structuring and risk allocation; contract execution and variations; and post-award contractual interpretation and dispute avoidance. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advise on contract administration issues, claims, extensions of time, LAD exposure and termination rights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>External Stakeholder &amp; Counterparty Management<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lead contractual negotiations with external counterparties, consultants, contractors and suppliers. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work closely with external legal advisers on complex or high-risk commercial matters, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with Group positions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Standardisation &amp; Legal Frameworks<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop, maintain and continuously improve Group-wide contract templates, playbooks and standard clauses. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drive consistency in contract structures and risk positions across BUs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Team Leadership &amp; Capability Building<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mentor and guide Legal Managers \/ Legal Counsels in commercial contract matters. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support capability building and knowledge transfer within Group Legal and SBUs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Qualifications &amp; Experience<\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"> <\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10\u201312 years\u2019 experience in commercial contracts, construction\/projects or in-house legal roles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be informed that only shortlisted candidate will be notified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information, kindly reach out to Sunny Khoo via Whatsapp at 012-5164406 or via email at sunny.khoo@peoplelake.asia<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About the company: Providing professional legal services in a shared services environment to various business units for a conglomerate in Kuching Sarawak with diversified businesses in construction and property development.
