In this role, you\u2019ll work across AWS and\/or Azure cloud-native environment, ensuring the reliability and performance of databases that power real-time communication services at scale. You\u2019ll help to build and maintain resilient, secure and highly available global systems that keep the company&#8217;s platform running seamlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key responsibilities:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Administer, configure, and support IBM Db2 databases across production and non-production environments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage database lifecycle activities including provisioning, patching, upgrading, and decommissioning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR\/BCP) planning and testing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure uptime and reliability aligned with SLA\/SLO targets, particularly for real-time CPaaS workloads<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement and maintain cloud-native database solutions, automation, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optimize database performance and cost efficiency in cloud environments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor and tune database performance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in high-throughput, low-latency systems typical of CPaaS platforms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support capacity planning and scaling strategies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement database security controls including access management, encryption, auditing, and compliance policies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements (e.g., data protection, retention policies)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate database operations into CI\/CD pipelines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop scripts and automation for routine DBA tasks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide L2\/L3 support for database-related incidents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in 24\/7 on-call rotations for critical systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work closely with application, platform, and network teams supporting CPaaS workloads<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide database expertise in architecture and design discussions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Document operational procedures and best practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3-5+ years of strong hands-on experience with corporate databases, particularly IBM Db2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proven experience managing databases in AWS and\/or Azure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exposure to CPaaS platforms for real-time communication systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with PostgreSQL in cloud-native services highly regarded<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IBM Db2 certifications highly regarded<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Solid understanding of high availability and disaster recovery architectures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting in production systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or third-party tools)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of Linux\/Unix administration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong understanding of networking protocols in relation to DB connectivity and process flow from applications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, Powershell)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong understanding of incident and change management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Superior research and analytical skills to track and predict trends<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information, you may reach out to Cheryl Soh via email (cheryl.soh@peoplelake.asia) or WhatsApp (+6018-772 3437)<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About our client: Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, and operating globally, our client is a leading global communications platform as a service (CPaaS) provider that brings nearly 30 years of experience with enterprise-level mobile messaging to each of their over 4,500 government and enterprise clients around the globe.
