Head of Business Development and Marketing

About the role:

We are seeking a strategic leader to drive growth for one of the most prestigious professional services firms. As the Head of Business Development & Marketing, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership to enhance client acquisition, strengthen market positioning, and oversee a high-performing team. This role requires balancing regional collaboration with local execution, serving as a key advisor to the Stakeholders on both revenue generation and brand elevation.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development (60% Focus)

  • Develop and execute firm-wide BD strategies, including client targeting, cross-practice collaboration, and competitive differentiation.
  • Lead pitch development, proposal management, and client feedback programs to convert opportunities into revenue.
  • Oversee CRM optimization and matter/deal tracking to identify growth opportunities and improve client retention.
  • Advise partners on client relationship management and revenue-generating initiatives.

Marketing (40% Focus)

  • Produce high-impact marketing collateral (client alerts, practice area briefings, digital content) aligned with BD goals.
  • Manage digital presence (website, LinkedIn, Instagram) to enhance visibility and support lead generation.
  • Coordinate thought leadership initiatives, including awards submissions and rankings.
  • Plan and execute client events, webinars, and sponsorships with measurable ROI.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field. MBA or JD a plus.
  • 8+ years in BD/marketing within professional services. Prior experience in a multi-office environment preferred.
  • Mastery of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, InterAction) and data-driven BD.
  • Exceptional pitch/proposal writing and client-facing communication.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders with diplomacy.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages a plus.
