About Our Client:
Our client has achieved substantial growth and diversification, building a robust portfolio across the automotive, information technology, healthcare, beauty, farming, and food and beverage industries. They are now seeking an experienced, entrepreneurially minded Head of E-Commerce to lead and drive the Group’s profit-generating business unit.
Job Summary:
This is a pioneering role within the Group, leading a new digital commerce department that acts as an internal agency and shared service across all business units, including Automotive, F&B, Health & Beauty, and other businesses within the group.
The Head of E-Commerce will drive group-wide digital sales strategy, develop omnichannel solutions, and support all brands in scaling their e-commerce presence and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. E-Commerce Strategy and Execution
- Develop and lead the MKA Group-wide digital commerce roadmap, aligning with each brand’s growth ambitions.
- Design scalable solutions and platform infrastructure that allow easy onboarding of new product lines and brands.
- Promote digital adoption across legacy and emerging business units.
2. Platform & Operations Management
- Own and manage daily operations of B2C and B2B platforms (e.g. Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, etc).
- Ensure platform reliability, UI/UX consistency, SEO optimization, and high operational performance.
- Standardize digital store management SOPs across businesses.
3. Sales Optimization & Data Analytics
- Run A/B testing, UX improvements, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and cart abandonment solutions.
- Use analytics tools (GA4, Hotjar, etc.) to monitor key metrics (traffic, conversion, LTV).
- Generate monthly digital sales performance reports by business unit.
4. Product Catalogue & Digital Merchandising
- Manage and advise digital merchandising including pricing, bundling, promotions, and seasonal launches.
- Implement central PIM practices and ensure brand compliance.
5. Omnichannel Integration
- Build seamless bridges between online and offline retail—click & collect, in-store promotions, or warehouse fulfilment.
- Support retail team digital readiness (e.g., POS integration, QR engagement tools).
6. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work with Marketing, Product, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to ensure a seamless digital-to-delivery journey.
- Champion internal onboarding and education workshops for traditional sales or product teams.
7. Vendor & Partner Management
- Manage vendors including platform contacts, developers, fulfilment logistics, and tool subscriptions.
8. Financial & Service Performance
- Lead budgeting for digital commerce initiatives and track ROI across campaigns.
- Manage internal service SLAs with business units (e.g., campaign turnarounds <48 hours).
9. Team Development
- Build and grow the in-house digital commerce team.
- Establish SOPs, KPIs, and training for digital executives.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years in e-commerce leadership, ideally in automotive, lifestyle or FMCG sectors.
- Hands-on with e-commerce platforms (Shopee, Lazada, Amazon, TikTok), analytics (GA4) and ERP/PIM tools.
- Proven success scaling online revenue and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, able to align multiple brands toward shared digital goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. MBA will be an added advantage.
- Strong commercial acumen with entrepreneurial mindset.
- Proficiency in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia is a MUST.
