Role Overview

The Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of financial reporting. This position involves preparing draft audited financial statements, liaising with auditors, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).

📌 Reports to: Head of Finance, Cement Division

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare Draft Audited Financial Statements and Liaise with Auditors

🔹 Prepare and draft the company’s annual audited financial statements
🔹 Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for the audit process
🔹 Address audit queries and ensure the timely completion of the audit

2️. Prepare Reports for Board Paper Purpose

🔹 Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis for presentation to the Board of Directors
🔹 Ensure that the reports are accurate, clear and aligned with the strategic objectives of the company

3️. Prepare and Analyze Financial Information

🔹 Prepare financial information as required by the supervisor, such as variance analysis, forecasts and financial modelling
🔹 Analyze financial data to identify trends, potential risks and areas for improvement

4️. Prepare and Maintain Listings for Compliance with MFRS

🔹 Ensure that all financial records and statements comply with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS)
🔹 Maintain up-to-date compliance listings and documentation for MFRS compliance

5️. Ensure Compliance with Accounting Standards

🔹 Ensure that the company’s accounting practices are adhere to all applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements and company policies
🔹 Regularly update processes to reflect any changes in accounting regulations or standards

Job Requirements

✔ Education:
🎓 Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field and a relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACCA / CPA or equivalent)

✔ Experience & Skills:
📌 At least 8-10 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in external audit and commercial accounting

📌 Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical and critical thinking abilities

📌 Strong understanding of financial reporting, auditing and compliance with accounting standards

📌 Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports

📌 High proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

📌 Strong attention to detail and accuracy

📌 Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

📌 Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
