About the Role:
This role focuses on analyzing, validating, and correcting financial and operational data for assigned shipping lines. You will support Business Controllers by ensuring data accuracy for reporting, forecasting, and month-end closing.
Responsibilities:
Financial & Operational Data Analysis
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources.
- Input, update, and maintain operational data in financial systems.
- Monitor service line schedules and ensure accurate reporting periods.
- Update vessel costs, bunker consumption, bayplan integration, and Breakbulk BLs.
- Investigate and correct errors in Bill of Ladings.
Data Integrity & Quality Control
- Perform cross-checks to verify accuracy of financial and operational data.
- Identify and correct inconsistencies.
- Detect anomalies and escalate issues when necessary.
Autonomy & Workload Management
- Manage assigned shipping line portfolio independently.
- Meet deadlines and maintain high accuracy, especially during month-end closing.
IT Tools & Reporting
- Use Excel extensively for data analysis and cross-verification.
- Work with internal systems and tools to prepare data for finance teams.
Requirements:
- Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in finance operations, controlling, or data analysis.
- Experience in shipping, logistics, or multinational companies is a plus.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
