About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Manager to lead the finance function for our client’s Malaysia operations. This role is responsible for overseeing all financial planning, accounting, compliance, treasury, and risk management activities. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid background in retail finance, capable of providing actionable insights to support business growth while ensuring robust financial controls and regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
• Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to support business growth.
• Prepare detailed financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.

2. Accounting & Compliance

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and inventory accounting.
• Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
• Coordinate external audits, tax matters, and regulatory reporting.

3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for business operations.
• Optimize working capital and manage banking relationships effectively.

4. Internal Controls & Risk Management

• Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

5. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in finance management, preferably in the fashion retail sector.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinking with strong business acumen.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
