Group Chief Financial Officer – BPO Model (IPO Experience Mandatory)

Operating on a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) model , they act as an extension of their clients’ businesses, offering outsourced finance, accounting, and strategic advisory services. About the Role

This is a unique and high-impact leadership role where you will act as a “CFO-for-hire”, providing strategic financial leadership to multiple client companies through our shared-services BPO model. You will serve as the designated CFO or strategic finance lead for portfolio companies, subsidiaries, and clients undergoing aggressive growth, corporate exercises, or IPO preparation. Your primary mandate is to lead pre-IPO and IPO readiness projects, strengthen financial governance for client entities, and drive value creation. This is not a traditional in-house CFO role—you will be managing multiple client engagements simultaneously, providing expert financial oversight and advisory across various industries.

Key Responsibilities

1. BPO / Shared CFO Services for Client Portfolio

• Act as the designated CFO or strategic finance leader for a portfolio of client companies, subsidiaries, or entities undergoing growth or IPO preparation.
• Provide end-to-end financial leadership, governance, and business advisory support to assigned client engagements.
• Participate actively in client Board and management meetings, contributing to strategic planning, financial modeling, and investment decisions.
• Drive financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and investor readiness for each client entity.
• Deliver CFO-level services on a BPO basis, acting as a trusted outsourced finance partner to multiple clients simultaneously.

2. IPO & Pre-IPO Leadership

• Lead and manage the full lifecycle of IPO and pre-IPO restructuring projects for client companies targeting Bursa Malaysia and international capital markets, including NASDAQ and other exchanges.
• Serve as the primary finance lead for listing exercises, coordinating with investment bankers, legal advisers, auditors, tax consultants, sponsors, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure strict compliance with Bursa Malaysia, Securities Commission Malaysia, SEC, and other applicable regulations.
• Oversee due diligence, prospectus preparation, corporate restructuring, and comprehensive listing readiness programs for client entities.

3. Financial Governance & Compliance

• Establish and enhance financial governance, robust internal controls, and risk management frameworks for all client engagements.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and full statutory compliance for portfolio companies.
• Provide strategic financial advice, insights, and recommendations to client Boards and Management.

4. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Group finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Build a high-performing finance organization and develop a strong succession pipeline.
• Drive process improvements and spearhead digital transformation initiatives to enhance BPO service delivery efficiency.

5. Stakeholder Management

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with all key external and internal stakeholders for each client engagement, including:
  • Auditors, Tax Agents, and Bankers
  • Legal Advisers and Investment Bankers
  • Regulators, Investors, and Board Members

Job Requirements

Education & Professional Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, or MICPA is a priority requirement.
• MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 8 to 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership position (CFO, Finance Director, Group Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or equivalent).
• Proven and demonstrable experience in leading and managing IPO or pre-IPO projects is a MANDATORY requirement.
• Experience in a BPO, shared services, or professional services environment, managing finance functions for multiple client entities, is highly preferred.
• Significant exposure to corporate exercises, fund-raising, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and corporate restructuring is essential.
• Experience managing complex group structures with multiple entities is preferred.
• Exposure to Bursa Malaysia listing requirements, public listed companies, or international capital markets (e.g., NASDAQ, SGX) is a distinct advantage.
• Strong stakeholder management capabilities and a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
