Job Purpose
To support the General Manager, Group Finance in the area of financial controllership, with the on-going restructuring of the Group’s Finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Group’s Finance controllership in HQ entities
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with MFRS (Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards) and IFRS.
- Ensure compliance with Bursa Malaysia listing requirements, Securities Commission guidelines, and other local regulations.
- Lead the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual reports, ensuring accuracy and transparency in financial disclosures.
- Oversee and guide country finance teams on month-end closing and accounting matters.
- Drafting of statutory financial statements of the Group and sub-group, and review of subsidiary companies’ statutory accounts to relevant regulatory requirements
- Prepare notes highlighting key trends and variances to profit or loss, balance sheet, analytical reports and insights on the impact of changes on business.
- Prepare RRPT report and ensure submission to Group Internal Audit Department within the agreed timeline
- Prepare templates and ensure Business Units (BU) receive the information required for reports.
- Assist in preparation of Group Cash Flow statement
- Oversee group-level adjustments and reconciliations
- Conduct comprehensive research on MFRS and Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements.
- Monitor, interpret, and summarise changes in accounting standards and listing rules.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
- Document, review, and improve financial policies and procedures to enhance control and operational efficiency.
- Liaise with different stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide suitable recommendations.
- Participate in the development and presentation of educational materials for internal audiences.
- Ad-hoc assignment from the Management
Job Requirements
- Degree in Accounting / Finance / Professional qualification ACCA/CPA and a member of IIAM/ MIA/CIMA/MICPA.
- Preferably 8 years of working experience in financial / accounting or relevant fields.
- Strong in accounting / financial / audit analysis, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently, compliance driven and observe confidentiality.
