Head of Plant (Chemical Manufacturing) – 2 years contract position based in Bintulu, Sarawak

Position Overview:

Job Purpose: Managing the planning production schedules, identifying productivity goals, and monitoring processes to ensure efficiency and compliance in the manufacturing process. Develops strategies that make certain the production goals are met at optimal cost.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and oversee production schedules to meet customer demands, ensuring efficiency and timely delivery.
• Ensuring all products adhere to required specifications and quality standards.
• Analyze and monitor production KPIs to enhance productivity while minimizing costs.
• Lead, mentor, and support department managers and production teams to achieve organizational goals.
• Develop inhouse technical capability for improvement and rectification projects.
• Design and implement training programs to boost team performance and uphold safety standards.
• Plan and manage budgets, control expenses, and allocate resources effectively to maximize efficiency.
• Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure a safe workplace.
• Coordinate quality control processes to minimize waste and uphold product standards.
• Identify and address areas for improvement in quality, processes, and cost management.
• Cultivate strong relationships with government authorities related to plant regulatory requirements, safety and certifications.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports on plant operations to senior management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree/ Master in related or equivalent field.
• Good understanding of regulatory requirements for plant operations.
• Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership and managerial attributes.
• Knowledgeable in production of manufacturing policy, practice and standard of
• procedure.
