About the Client

Our client is a rapidly growing electronics manufacturing company based in Perak, Malaysia, operating as a key regional hub for a well-established international group headquartered in Asia. Since its incorporation in 2018, the company has specialized in PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) and a wide range of electronic components, including resistors, capacitors, coils, and transformers.

Job Description

• Oversee SMT Manufacturing Operations  
  • Manage and improve the SMT and PCB assembly production processes to ensure high efficiency, quality, and throughput.
• Process Development & Optimization  
  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes including solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, and inspection.
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI)  
  • Coordinate engineering support for NPI activities; ensure smooth transition from engineering to mass production.
• Troubleshooting & Problem Solving  
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues (yield loss, downtime, quality failures).
• Manage Engineering Team  
  • Supervise and mentor manufacturing/process engineers and technicians; allocate tasks and evaluate performance.
• Continuous Improvement & Lean Projects  
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as cycle time reduction, layout improvement, and cost-saving projects.
• Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure processes comply with IPC standards, ESD requirements, and customer specifications.
• Capacity Planning & Equipment Management  
  • Plan equipment capacity, identify bottlenecks, and recommend investments or upgrades.

Job Requirements

• Qualification: At least a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of working experience in related industry.
• Skills: 
  • SMT Process Expertise  
    • Strong knowledge of SMT production processes (solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, AOI, etc.)
  • Lean Manufacturing & Kaizen  
    • Skilled in implementing lean tools (5S, VSM, root cause analysis, continuous improvement).
  • Equipment & Process Optimization  
    • Experience in evaluating, installing, and optimizing SMT equipment and production lines.
  • Production Troubleshooting  
    • Excellent problem-solving skills to handle quality, yield, or equipment issues in real-time.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI)  
    • Able to lead NPI process including DFM, process validation, and first article builds.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting  
    • Proficient in using data to track KPIs, analyse trends, and drive improvements (OEE, FPY, downtime, etc.).
  • Team Leadership & Development  
    • Ability to lead a team of engineers and technicians, provide coaching, and build engineering capability.
  • Quality Standards Knowledge  
    • Familiar with IPC standards, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ESD control practices.
  • Required language(s): Mandarin, English, Bahasa Malaysia.
