Senior Accountant (Support UAE, WFH)

About our client:
Our client, an UAE based Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs) company which owned and operated vessels in the oil and gas industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support its financial operations within a shared services entity based in Malaysia.

Responsibilities:
This is a full-spectrum accounting role encompassing, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

1. Managing AP and AR, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping;
2. Preparing and managing quarterly financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
3. Conducting monthly cost analysis in accordance with the agreed format, specifically for vessel operations.
4. Leading the development and implementation of proper accounting systems and processes, including:
   i) Purchase requisition, PO, Invoice and DO matching before payments are put up for approval and final release of payments in banking system;
   ii) Checking contracts and invoicing clients based on contract terms, following up with payments not made by clients (chasing payments).

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in group financial reporting and accounts consolidation, preferably within the shared service environment.
2. Experience in setting up a new Accounting Department is a MUST.
3. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACCA or equivalent qualification is required.
4. Strong understanding of IFRS and financial consolidation processes.
5. Proficiency in English and Mandarin is essential.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
7. Proficient in financial reporting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
