About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Learning & Development to lead our efforts in building a future-ready workforce. This role will design and execute strategic L&D programs, leadership development initiatives, and talent retention strategies to support business growth in Malaysia.
You will collaborate with HR, business leaders, and external partners to foster a culture of continuous learning, career growth, and high performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Learning & Development Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive L&D roadmap aligned with business goals and Malaysia’s talent landscape.
- Lead leadership development programs (e.g., high-potential talent pipelines, succession planning).
- Drive digital learning transformation (e.g., e-learning platforms, microlearning, AI-driven training).
- Evaluate training effectiveness through KPIs (completion rates, skill application, ROI).
2. Talent Management & Retention
- Design and execute talent development frameworks (competency models, career pathways).
- Partner with HR on performance management, engagement surveys, and retention strategies.
- Implement diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in talent development.
- Identify critical skills gaps and develop upskilling/reskilling programs.
3. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Work with business leaders to assess training needs and align programs with workforce demands.
- Manage relationships with external training providers, universities, and government-linked programs (e.g., HRD Corp Malaysia).
- Oversee budgeting and cost optimization for L&D initiatives.
4. Employer Branding & Early Career Programs
- Strengthen employer branding through L&D initiatives (e.g., certifications, mentorship).
- Lead graduate trainee programs, internships, and apprenticeships in partnership with local institutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in HR, Organizational Psychology, Business, or related field.
- 20+ years in L&D/Talent Management, preferably in Malaysia or ASEAN markets.
- Proven track record in:
- Leadership development & succession planning.
- Digital learning tools (eg: LMS)
- Talent analytics (measuring L&D impact on performance).
- Familiarity with Malaysian labor laws, HRD Corp grants, and government training incentives.
- Strong stakeholder management (C-suite, HR, external partners).
- Certifications (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, HRD Corp Trainer) are a plus.
