SMT Section Manager

About the Client

Our client is a rapidly growing electronics manufacturing company based in Perak, Malaysia, operating as a key regional hub for a well-established international group headquartered in Asia. Since its incorporation in 2018, the company has specialized in PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) and a wide range of electronic components, including resistors, capacitors, coils, and transformers.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee daily SMT production operations to ensure on-time delivery and quality output.
• Manage SMT staff scheduling, training, and performance.
• Ensure all machines are properly maintained, calibrated, and utilized efficiently.
• Coordinate with planning, engineering, and QA departments for smooth workflow.
• Review production reports, yield, and downtime, and implement improvements.
• Ensure compliance with IPC standards and company quality systems.
• Lead troubleshooting for machine, process, or quality issues.
• Manage inventory and material control for SMT components.
• Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Prepare reports and updates to senior management.

Job Requirements

• At least a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in related industry.
• Technical Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of SMT machines 
  • Knowledge of PCB design and assembly processes
  • Experience with reflow soldering, AOI, SPI, and X-ray inspection
• Leadership & Management
  • Ability to lead and manage SMT team members
  • Plan production schedules and ensure targets are met
  • Train operators and enforce quality control standards
• Problem Solving
  • Troubleshoot machine or process issues quickly
  • Analyse production data to improve efficiency
• Communication & Coordination
  • Coordinate with planning, engineering, and quality departments
  • Good reporting and documentation skills
• Required language(s): Mandarin, English, Bahasa Malaysia.
