HRD Corp Training Grant Updates Effective 15 June 2026 – Are You Ready?

Effective 15 June 2026, HRD Corp has introduced new rules for Training Grant (Levy) applications, aimed at improving planning and streamlining the grant approval process. Employers who utilize HRD Corp grants should take note of these changes to avoid disruptions to their training schedules.

Key Changes Effective 15 June 2026

1. Earlier Planning is Required

Employers must now obtain training grant approval at least 14 calendar days before the training date.

This means last-minute grant applications will no longer be feasible. Organizations are encouraged to plan their training schedules well in advance to ensure sufficient time for grant approval.

2. Approved Grants Can No Longer Be Modified

Once a training grant has been approved, amendments are no longer permitted.

Changes to the following details will require the cancellation of the approved grant and submission of a new application:

  • Training title
  • Venue
  • Trainer
  • Training dates
  • Training time
  • Training structure
  • Training mode

As such, employers should ensure all submitted information is complete and accurate before applying.

3. Introduction of a 24-Hour Approval Window

HRD Corp has implemented a 24-hour approval window for grant applications, subject to the submission timing:

  • Applications submitted before 5:00 PM on a working day: Approval within the same day.
  • Applications submitted after 5:00 PM or on non-working days: Approval window begins on the next working day.
  • Weekends and public holidays are excluded from the approval period.

What Should Employers Do?

To avoid delays or complications, employers are advised to:

✔ Submit training grant applications early.
✔ Ensure all application details are complete and accurate.
✔ Confirm training dates, venues, and trainers in advance.
✔ Plan training schedules well ahead of time.
✔ Build in buffer time for unforeseen changes, as grant modifications are no longer allowed after approval.

Final Thoughts

With these changes taking effect on 15 June 2026, employers should review their training planning processes and adjust their timelines accordingly. Early preparation and accurate submissions will be key to ensuring smooth grant approvals and uninterrupted training initiatives.
