Key Responsibilities:
- Product Management (50%)
- Define product positioning and product life cycle management, including range extensions, deletions, supersessions, etc. Implement product policy for range in ASEAN region
- Regular review of range, including gap analysis against vehicle Parc and competitor comparisons.
- Updating of range to meet range coverage policy.
- Monitor customer requirements and competitor moves, regular benchmarking.
- Start and coordinate NPI process
- Assist supplier technical compliance performance & seek continuous improvement
- Coordinate with suppliers for product specification, including packaging, label, inserts, product appearance.
- Coordinate with technical department for the new product training for internal and external before the new product training handover to technical department
Sourcing (30%)
- Define sourcing strategy for each product category and implement
- Perform sourcing studies to maintain best in class sourcing and world class cost prices
- Supplier acquisition
- Make sourcing decision making
- Set up supplier contracts and ongoing management of contracts
- Cost down
- Commercial negotiations with suppliers

- Planning for Annual volumes
- Implement the stocking policy for the new product and existing product
- Perform stock planning for the new product before the supply chain department take over
Marketing (10%)
- Create marketing plans geared toward target groups for each key product within portfolio, in line with company strategies and targets and within budget.
- Develop and implement Brand and Communication strategy
- Conduct appropriate market research, competitive activities analysis and their products and services
- Budget management, to deliver all marketing activities within the agreed budget.
Financials: (10%)
- Monthly monitoring of key financial figures and co-ordinate actions between departments where recovery needed or opportunities are presented.
- Responsibility for product line sales, Gross Margin in Malaysia against Operating plan
Key Performance Measures

- To develop promotional campaigns, customer incentive program
- Support operations team to update the costing and maintain the database in system
- Responsible for range extension.
- To manage and meet monthly reporting dateline as required by management
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 – 6 years of experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Proven experience working as a distributor and managing wholesaler networks.
- Analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of the product management processes.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email, and internet applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English. Proficiency in the Chinese language, both written and verbal, will be an added advantage.
- Extensive customer visits and this position requires travel within Malaysia and overseas.
