Chief Executive Officer (eCommerce)

About the Client:

Our client is a Malaysian technology company operating in the eCommerce and fintech sectors. It is best known for its lifestyle Super App that offers O2O e-commerce, e-payment, and rewards solutions. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of a NASDAQ-listed entity and is currently expanding into digital assets (RWA tokenization) within Malaysia.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a CEO on behalf of our client, a Malaysian IT and eCommerce company (operator of a leading lifestyle Super App). The company is a subsidiary of a NASDAQ-listed entity. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in IT and eCommerce and a proven track record in a publicly listed company (Bursa or NASDAQ) .

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership & Business Growth (IT & eCommerce)

• Define and drive the overall strategy for the company’s Super App, O2O e-commerce, and payment solutions
• Lead user acquisition, merchant partnerships, and transaction volume growth across Malaysia
• Guide the company’s expansion into new technology verticals, including digital assets (RWA tokenization)

2. Public Company Compliance & Governance (Bursa / NASDAQ)

• Ensure full compliance with NASDAQ listing rules (as a subsidiary of a NASDAQ-listed parent) and applicable Bursa Malaysia requirements
• Oversee financial reporting and internal controls through the finance team
• Liaise with the Board, auditors, legal counsel, and regulatory bodies

3. Strategic Financial & Operational Oversight

• Set financial direction and approve annual budgets, P&L targets, and KPIs developed by the finance team
• Lead fundraising efforts and manage key investor relationships
• Oversee operational performance through department heads (Technology, Marketing, Merchant Operations)

4. Stakeholder & Team Leadership

• Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing executive team
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and strategic execution
• Represent the company to government agencies, partners, media, and investors

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred
• 8–10 years in IT, eCommerce, or digital platform leadership
• Prior experience in a Bursa or NASDAQ listed company with direct reporting and compliance responsibilities
• Strong strategic and financial acumen with ability to lead through department heads
