About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven leader to take charge of business development and commercial operations. This senior role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, securing high-value contracts, expanding into new markets, and managing key stakeholder relationships—particularly with government agencies and local authorities.

You will lead a commercial team, shape pricing and bidding strategies, and play a pivotal role in the company’s diversification journey. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact in a listed company undergoing meaningful change.

Job Description

  • Business Development
    • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities across all divisions.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and government stakeholders.
    • Lead contract negotiations and commercial discussions from initiation to closing.
    • Drive customer acquisition and retention initiatives.
  • Commercial Management
    • Develop and oversee commercial planning, pricing strategies, and contract management.
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments.
    • Manage sales pipelines, forecasts, and business performance metrics.
    • Lead proposal development, tender submissions, and commercial presentations.
  • Government & Public Sector Engagement
    • Act as the primary liaison with government ministries, agencies, and local authorities.
    • Navigate regulatory frameworks and ensure compliance in all public-sector dealings.
    • Leverage existing networks to secure new projects and concessions.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing commercial team.
    • Set clear performance targets and conduct regular reviews.
    • Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture.
  • Strategic Contribution
    • Provide market insights and recommendations to the executive team.
    • Contribute to the group’s long-term strategic planning, especially regarding new business segments.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. MBA is an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business development, commercial management, or sales leadership.
  • At least 5 years in a senior management or leadership capacity.
  • Proven track record of delivering revenue growth and securing major commercial contracts.
  • Experience dealing with government affairs and local authorities is essential.
  • Background in property development, construction, infrastructure, or related sectors is highly preferred.

  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex business initiatives.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Willing to travel domestically as required.
