About the Company:
A Malaysia-based company specializing in industrial automation and power systems, primarily catering to the oil and gas as well as food manufacturing sectors. Their services include the design, manufacturing, assembly, integration, installation, testing, and commissioning of process control systems, power distribution systems, and Ex solar PV systems.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the finance and accounting team, ensuring they stay motivated, receive proper development, and perform their duties to the expected standards.
- Prepare the company’s annual operating budget to meet financial goals and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Monitor actual performance against the budget, identify any issues or opportunities, and communicate with stakeholders to resolve concerns.
- Review monthly management reports, financial statements, and other financial documents, ensuring they are accurate, submitted on time, and comply with rules and standards.
- Provide support on accounting, tax, and financial reporting matters, including technical advice.
- Work with auditors and help manage the audit process for the companies.
- Maintain strong relationships with external parties such as lawyers, bankers, and government agencies.
- Coordinate with other departments to discuss business strategies and make decisions on future plans.
- Oversee finance and accounts for multiple companies or subsidiaries.
- Carry out any other tasks assigned as needed.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accountancy and/or professional qualifications such as ACCA or CPA.
- At least 3 years of experience working in a public-listed company.
- Knowledge and understanding of taxation.
- Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experienced in using the SAGE accounting system.
