About the company:
Our client is a diversified Malaysian public-listed group with operations in energy, F&B, tourism, and manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management and Reporting – Lead and manage the full spectrum of finance and accounting operations for one of the entities, including timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reporting in line with Group requirements.
- Budgeting, Forecasting and Planning – Lead the annual budget and periodic forecasting process and provide variance analysis, financial models and planning support for operations and capital expenditure.
- Internal Controls, Governance and Compliance – Establish, maintain and improve financial controls, policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with statutory, tax, audit and Group requirements.
- Cash Flow and Working Capital Management – Manage cash flow, banking matters, receivables, payables, fixed assets and capital expenditure controls to support operational continuity and financial discipline.
- Business Partnering – Work closely with department heads and management to provide financial insight, cost control support and commercial analysis for decision-making.
- Team Leadership – Lead, supervise and develop the finance team and promote a professional, ethical and high-performance finance culture.
- Group Reporting Liaison – Act as the primary finance liaison with Group Headquarters and escalate key financial risks, control weaknesses and compliance matters to the Group Financial Controller in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent is preferred. Membership in MIA is an advantage, subject to company policy.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 to 5 years in a managerial or finance leadership role.
- Must have experience in a public-listed company.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting and internal controls.
- Good understanding of Malaysian financial reporting standards, tax and statutory compliance requirements.
- Must be able to travel to Langkawi periodically OR be based in Langkawi.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and business partnering capability.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skill.
- Good planning, organization and report-writing skills.
- High integrity, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
