About the role
The Motion Software Senior Engineer will spearhead the design, development, and enhancement of machine control systems for advanced solar wafer and cell inspection equipment, providing technical leadership in PLC software development, control architecture, motion system integration, and commissioning across both inline and standalone automation machines, while working on complex platforms involving servo motion, gantry systems, multi‑axis synchronization, robotics integration, and industrial PC‑based control system
Key Responsibilities
•Lead design and development of PLC-based machine control systems.
•Improve and maintain existing PLC software framework and architecture.
•Redesign or rebuild control architecture when required for performance and scalability.
•Define machine control standards, software structure, and reusable libraries.
•Lead integration of servo systems, gantry motion, and multi-axis synchronization.
•Coordinate PLC integration with robots, vision systems, and PC-based control software.
•Ensure reliable real-time data exchange between PLC and PC systems.
•Lead machine commissioning, debugging, and site troubleshooting activities.
•Mentor and guide junior PLC engineers in technical execution and development.
•Drive continuous improvement in machine reliability, cycle time, and software efficiency.
•Support technical discussions with internal teams and customers.
Requirements
•Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field.
•Minimum 5 years of experience in machine automation or controls engineering.
•Strong PLC programming experience in industrial automation machines.
•Proven experience in servo motion control and multi-axis synchronization systems.
•Experience working with gantry systems, robotics integration, or high-speed automation machines.
•Strong understanding of machine communication systems (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, TCP/IP, EtherCAT).
•Experience in machine commissioning and field troubleshooting.
•Ability to lead technical decisions and mentor engineering teams.
•Strong problem-solving skills in complex machine behavior and system-level debugging.
Preferred Experience
•Experience with Keyence PLC and/or Omron PLC systems.
•Experience in semiconductor equipment, solar inspection systems, or high-precision automation machines.
•Exposure to linear motor systems or high-performance motion platforms.
•Experience improving or building PLC software frameworks or libraries.
•Familiarity with structured machine control architecture design.
